Day Seventeen

The key to dessert driving is to wake up early and get it over with before it is too hot.  We tried-leaving at 6:30am, but found ourselves still driving at 2pm.

We drove through Los Vegas, played some slots, lost a bunch and had to sell the van.  We're really sorry Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma Smith can you wire us some money to get home?  I guess this is the end of the road for us...
...sorry, Mom, Dad Harder and Harder clan-we really wanted to make it all the way to Iowa this year.

;) But honestly, did you believe me for a nanosecond?

We highly recommend driving Hwy 15 were it cuts across the tip of Arizona!  It was the first dessert canyon we got to see.

It's maddening how much these pictures don't do the landscape justice.

The temperature was over 100 degrees and we didn't use AC part of the time to give the van a break.

We could see miles of open land.

If only I had a transporter, I would come here once a week...(for just a couple of hours though, I would want to get to hot now would I.)

In the afternoon we landed in Kanarraville, UT at the Red Ledge RV Campground.  It is very clean, cute and we have AC!  We immediately sat down and ate our leftover Ramen!  It was solo delish.  Thanks,  Jordan and Kristina!
