Day One

Day one involved a lot of driving and some beautiful sights! We left Washington as it was pouring down rain. The rain finally let up around Olympia, and the weather got better from there.

We had to stop in Vancouver to pick up a National Parks Pass, and the place happened to be Fort Vancouver, so we stopped in to check it out...

We had planned on staying the night in Cannon Beach and we hoped to just find a spot to park and stay the night, but it was apparent that the town is not accommodating if you want to park and sleep for free... But it was beautiful on the beach and we walked for a while, enjoying the rocks out on the water and the squeak the sand made when you walk on it.

We left Cannon Beach hoping to find a town where we could park and sleep. When we got to Wheeler, OR, we found a spot and hunkered down for the night.
